Christmas 2021

We had a lot of fun making Reindeer Cookies and Christmas decorations this week.

We used arrowroot biscuits, nutella, M&Ms and pretzels to make our delicious reindeer cookies. It was a lovely treat!

Our Christmas decorations had a 'Xmas Tree' theme. We made a finger print xmas tree card, a glittery xmas tree with a candy cane and then a xmas tree ornament for our trees. What a great way to end the year.

EOTC Days

 Last week we had our EOTC Days at Lake Ngatu, Waiari and school. The first day we went for a walk from the Beach to the lake it took 1 hour when we got to the lake we had some morning tea then we went for a swim then we had to get out and I was so cold when I got out.

 

Music with Matua Jade

WALT explore different musical instruments and we are learning to give different types of music a go.

Every Monday we go to Matua Jade for Music on the first Monday we got to play with the instruments like drums,ukulele,guitar,piano. My favourite was drums and piano because Matua Jade showed me the keys for a song and it sounded so good. Tthe drums were so fun even though I had no idea what to do. We have so much fun on Monday's.

Asttle Narrative Writing - SAVING THE TOWN

Teacher Note - ‘UNASSISTED’ ASTTLE WRITING

1. The children write for a total of 40 minutes. Within that timeframe they have to plan their writing (a brainstorm) write, edit and re-craft their work. They are not allowed to use dictionaries or word cards. The students completed their writing on paper but have typed it out for their blogs.

 Once there was a princess and prince and they lived in a BIG castle and one day they heard a whisper but there was no one there only the prince and the princess and they think it is the wizard but he lived two houses away so how could it be him so the prince let out the dog to see if it was the wizard that was whispering and it was not him so who was it they said again? The prodlim was that the dog did not know what the wizard smells like. Lucky the prince had a T-short that had his scent on it but they notised that the dog was not sniffing so they had a solution.

Water - An Amazing Substance

We are using water to help us understand different scientific concepts.

You will need:

. Water 

. Cup

. Food coloring

. Ice cream lid cut out a circle 

. Chalk

You have to get a cup of water and you dump it on concrete in the sun because if you put it in the shad it won't work and you what a hour and look at it and it will gone because it went in the sky . Next. get half a cup of water  Ice cream lid cut out a circle  put the Ice cream lid on the cup and flip it upside down and the gravity with hod it up .Next get a cup of cold water, a cup of hot water and put some food colring in the hot or cold and use your ice cream lid to block the hot and cold water and then carefully pull out the ice-cream  lid. Watch what happens.

 On Sunday me my Mum and my Brother Austen went to the  90  beach and wen me and my mum were getting sticks my cosine Allegra,uncle Dion and aunty Nomes we made a Brig and we stayed at the beach for 4 hours after that we went to my cousin Collins house

My favourite part of the Mahuika Show was when potiki came out of the magic kete and nana said NO NO DON’T touch that and nana tried to move it but she accidently touched it and turned into coal. It was my favourite part because nana turned into coal and  then they had to go and find a way to turn her back!

I’d like to introduce my mum Toni .She has brown eyes like the bark of a puriri tree and she's tall she loves wearing black clothes and black pants she look as black as our cows Mum loves wearing a messy bun her favourite TV show is country calendar like nana . Mum's favourite colour is red and black and green

I love the guinea pigs but she doesn't like them at all. She loves going to plant base  cause she likes getting free coffee and plants  I love doing arts and crafts on the weekend plus netball on Saturday with mum. My Mum is the best Mum in the world because she takes me to netball and loves playing chess and monopoly.

ANZAC DAY

 On ANZAC Day we go to dawn parades at dawn because that's when the soldiers landed on Gallipoli on the 25th of April 1915 .Poppies are special because they were the first flower to grow back on the destroyed ground from the bombs and gun's from the war .NZ and Australia fought in world war 1 and 2 lest we Forget

2. Peter Burling was the youngest NZ helmsman has ever had. He set a goal when he was 11 to race in the America's Cup when he grew up. I am setting.

Tsunami Evacuation

1. We wrote a recount about our evacuation experience.

Second Draft

On Friday there was a Tsunami Evacuation so we had to climb the mountain and I was so hot and sweaty we stopt and ate morning tea. After we kept walking we stopped for half an hour and then we plaid  charades and I felt a little scared and a little nervous.

I loved waking up the hill because I love waking and running. I had so much fun .Then we went down a hill and had a rest in the shade and it was so nice and cold. After that we had a sausage sizzle and milk. It was so nice because I was so HUNGRY!!!We were up on the hill for five hours.

 

The Great Reading Adventure

We are learning to write a moment in time about our class assembly, 'The Great Reading Adventure'.

I was so excited because the day had finally come. I was a bit scared ,nervous and happy . I was at the start and I was friend 3. I had butterflies in my tummy.my lines were I love reading books cats dogs guinea pig cows I love animals my other line was you just need to find a book you love come on wile help you As I started to say my line they started going a way . i felt proud!! After my group was the Wonky Donkey ,BFG,Non-fiction,Maui and the Sun.I had so much fun because me and the rest of the group except for Kylan and Elena could watch the show We loved it Whaea Deb and Mrs Davan!
